The Hanseatic Tour is a project of the Oldenzaalse Musea Foundation in collaboration with Oldenzaal Promotion.Not everyone knows that the roosters also played an important role in the rich history of Oldenzaal. Thanks to its position as the ecclesiastical center of Twente and its favorable location on trade routes, Oldenzaal formed an important gateway to the German hinterland. With the Hanze tour you discover the Hanseatic history of Oldenzaal and the city center at the same time. In search of the lost coins of the Lübeck merchant, you will pass important places in the city center such as the Plechelmus and the Ganzenmarkt and discover what role these places played in the times of the Hanseatic League.
